A bookkeeper for a Clearwater company has been arrested on suspicion she stole thousands of dollars from the business. Kristyne E. Parks, 56, was arrested Monday on charges of grand theft and scheming to defraud. Police say Parks stole the money from November till August while she worked at Bayside Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. The company, which is conducting an audit, has found she stole nearly $8,000 to date, though Parks admitted to police that she stole about $25,000, reports state. Parks told police she made personal purchases on company credit cards soon after she started working at the business. In 2001, Parks also was charged with grand theft and forgery, to which she pleaded no contest and received 18 months' probation. A year later, she was arrested on worthless check charges. She pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay restitution.
