Animal Services seeks dog that bit woman Monday

A woman was bitten by a dog Monday a few blocks from U.S. 41 and State Road 200, according to the Department of Public Safety, Animal Services Division. The animal is described as a black and white medium-size dog wearing a collar.

If the dog is not located by Thursday, rabies vaccinations will have to be administered to the victim. If you have any information regarding this dog, call Citrus County Animal Services Division between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., 726-7660. Dog trainers agree that walkers should carry a walking stick as a precaution and loudly hit the stick on the ground to scare approaching dogs. Healthy animals are frightened by the sound and should retreat.
