BOWser Games in need of vendors and artisans

The Pinellas Animal Foundation's third annual BOWser Games is looking for vendors (nonfood), artisans and crafters to participate in the early February event. The games are a celebration of the human/animal bond where dogs and their owners participate in fun contests. For information, call 347-7387. 15 to be honored as 2005 Best Groomed

The Woman's Service League Inc. will present the 55th annual Fashion Promenade on Feb. 12 at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, 11 Central Ave. The highlight of the event will be the presentation of the "2005 Best Groomed." This group of 10 women and 5 men is chosen for their outstanding personal style and grooming and their volunteer experience within the community. Anyone interested in being nominated for this honor should send a brief resume by Friday to Alice Roess, 5412 Aloha Drive, St. Pete. Beach, FL, 33706. The funds raised during this event benefit two charities: Watson Center for the Blind (Programs for Children) and the Lupus Foundation of Greater Florida (Programs for Children). Magazine for teens offers free web site design class

Impressions Teen Magazine is planning to start a collaborative with Youth As Resources and 4-H Youth Development to provide a free web site design class for high school teens.

The magazine is looking for eight to 10 high school students to participate in the program, which begins Jan. 5, and will be a weekly ongoing program from 2:30-5 p.m. at 1320 Fifth St. N, St. Petersburg.

The program is free and funded through the City of St. Petersburg TASCO Teen Programs and the Juvenile Welfare Board.

Impressions Teen Magazine is also looking for teens in grades six through 12 who have an interest in writing, photography, graphics or layout design. Call 892-5877.

A chance to learn about international adoption

Hand in Hand International Adoptions will hold a free orientation at 6:30 p.m., Jan. 13 at the Seminole Community Library, 9200 113th St. N. A licensed non-profit International adoption agency, Hand in Hand places children from several countries including China, the Philippines, Guatemala, Haiti, Russia, Ukraine and Moldova. Topics covered include the adoption process, tax legislation that makes adoption more affordable, the joys and challenges of international adoption and more.
