Readers can sample portions of books online

Published Aug. 24, 2005

(ran Beach edition)

The St. Petersburg Public Library has expanded its Online Book Club, a free service that delivers chapters of books electronically. Monday through Friday, the library sends subscribers via e-mail a portion of a book that takes five minutes to read.

The two or three chapters are enough to introduce the latest publications or perhaps a new author. If you like the book, you can make a request online through the library then pick it up at the nearest St. Petersburg Library. Visit or call 893-7724.
