Pregnant woman treated after school bus crash

A pregnant woman was taken to the hospital after the vehicle she was traveling in collided with a school bus Tuesday afternoon, according to a Pasco County school official.

Two Mary Giella Elementary students were aboard bus No. W237 when the crash occurred at 4:20 p.m. at Oakwood Road and Peter Max Boulevard, said Jack Greene, supervisor of transportation for Pasco County schools.

The students and bus driver Ray LaPalme were uninjured, Greene said. The Florida Highway Patrol was investigating the crash Tuesday evening and further details were not immediately available, Trooper Larry Coggins said.

LaPalme has been employed with the district since 1997.
