Keisha Cason, a student at Central High, participated in the Presidential Classroom Law & Justice in a Democracy Program in Washington, D.C. Keisha joined more than 420 other high school juniors and seniors from the United States and other countries, exploring and experiencing the justice system and the role it plays in the U.S. government. Participants attended seminars, visited with government representatives on Capitol Hill and toured historic sites around Washington.

Central High's NJROTC cadets took first place overall honors and brought home 10 more trophies at the second annual Tampa Bay Tech High School Battle of the Titans Field Meet in December, including first place standings in unarmed exhibition drill, color guard and two relays.
In addition, several individual medals were awarded to students for their performances: Kelly Bowens received the second-highest score on the academic test out of 180 cadets; Paul Witiak and Mindy Zavesky were recognized for the highest number of pushups. Brad May and Jeanette McDonald had the second-highest number of pushups and Frank Territo, the third highest.
The cadets also won a trophy for their dance performance.
