JIRSA, EILEEN T., 79, of Brooksville, died Monday (Jan. 3, 2005) in the Oak Hill Hospital Spring Hill. Born in Columbus, Ohio, she came here 19 years ago from Chicago, where she was a freight tracer for Sears, Roebuck Co. She was a member of the Brookridge Ceramics Club and the Illinois Club of Brookridge. She was Catholic. Survivors include her son, Richard R. Jirsa Jr., and a daughter, Patricia Beres, both of Spring Hill; and a granddaughter. Turner Funeral Homes, Spring Hill.

JONES, DONNA JEAN, 66, of Spring Hill, formerly of Zephyrhills, died Wednesday (Jan. 5, 2005) in Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in Benton Harbor, Mich., she came here from Zephyrhills. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, Alan, Seale, Ala.; three daughters, Janette Crosby, Bradenton, Ruthie Ashmore, Zephyrhills, and Rhonda Sevick, Spring Hill; a brother, Jimmy Tigner, Tampa; four sisters, Janette Brown, Shirley Goodwin, Mabel and Louise, all of Tampa; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. JOY, DOROTHY F., 81, of Brooksville, formerly of Tampa, died Friday (Dec. 31, 2004) in Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in Memphis, Tenn., she came here 25 years ago from Tampa. She had been a cigar maker for the Swan Cigar Factory in Ybor City. She attended the Community Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Thomas N.; three sons, Edward Rodriguez, Tampa, Norman Joy, Virginia, and Thomas N. Joy Jr., Chicago; three daughters, Martha Irene Bell, Elizabeth, W.Va., Margaret Jean Wilson, Brooksville, and Mary Cabler, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a brother, Leon O'Rear, Tennessee; a sister, Barbara Powell, Chattanooga, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. KARSON, MILES K., 82, of Brooksville, died Monday (Jan. 3, 2005) at home under the care of his family and Hernando-Pasco Hospice. Born in Cadiz, Ohio, he came to this area 22 years ago from McKeesport, Pa. He was the owner of Miles Decorating Centre and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mildred; two sons, Greg K., Milledgeville, Ga., and Miles K. Karson Jr., Hermitage, Pa.; and three grandchildren. PIESCO, BORIS U., 84, of Brooksville, died Monday (Jan. 3, 2005) at home under the care of his wife and Hernando-Pasco Hospice. Born in New Haven, Conn., he came to this area 20 years ago from Camarillo, Calif. He was a construction contractor and remodeled upscale homes for celebrities. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Glen Lakes Golf Club. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a son, Mark, Oak Park, Calif.; and a sister, Olga Powell, Camarillo. STONE, WANNEETA O., 80, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday (Jan. 4, 2005) in Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. She came here 16 years ago from her native Muskegon, Mich., and was an automobile production worker. She was Methodist. Survivors include her husband, Alvin; a daughter, Barbara Steffs, Dorr, Mich.; and a sister, Olive Ruff, Fremont, Mich. Faupel Funeral Home, Port Richey.
