South Florida and North Carolina will announce a home-and-home series for football games in 2006-07 sometime in the next week, UNC senior associate athletic director Larry Gallo said Wednesday.
Gallo said the schools have discussed a game in Chapel Hill in 2006 and another at Raymond James Stadium in 2007. It will be the second home-and-home series USF has signed with an Atlantic Coast Conference team, following a deal with Miami announced two weeks ago that will have the Bulls playing at the Orange Bowl in October.
In addition to seven games against Big East opponents, USF is scheduled to play at UCF in 2006, and if the NCAA approves adding a 12th game, a home game with Miami could be one of the remaining three dates in '06.
