The Hernando County Commission and the Brooksville City Council will have a joint meeting at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the City Council chambers at Brooksville City Hall, 201 Howell Ave. The officials will discuss differences between the city and county over the Majestic Oaks development.

Bayport Park upgrades to be discussed at meeting
BROOKSVILLE _ Hernando County's Environmentally Sensitive Lands Committee will have a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the County Commission chambers at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 N Main St.
The meeting is to discuss improvements to be made at Bayport Park. County staffers, park design consultants and representatives from the Southwest Florida Water Management District will present.
This is the second conceptual plan to be presented to the lands committee for approval. Once approved, it will be presented to the Hernando County Commission for approval to proceed with design of the project.
Planned improvements at the park include additional boat ramps and parking, an entrance roadway, picnic shelters, sewer and restrooms, sidewalks, boardwalk, playground, observation deck and a kayak/canoe launch.
