Tampa Electric's plans to construct 95-foot utility poles through portions of this northeast Tampa community have been delayed, company officials say.
Last summer, Tampa Electric began installing poles as part of a three-phase effort to bring more reliable and affordable electricity to customers in fast-growing New Tampa. The utility was supposed to begin the second part of the project this year, but spokesman Ross Bannister said Tuesday that construction has been postponed until 2007.
More than 70 utility poles will extend from the Chapman substation in Lutz, at 16933 N Livingston Ave., to the River substation, 9514 Woodland Ridge Road.
