Longtime NFL assistant George Warhop has interviewed for the job as offensive line coach at Florida State to replace Jimmy Heggins, who resigned last week.

Warhop, 43, would bring impressive credentials having coached collegiately at Cincinnati, Kansas, Vanderbilt, New Mexico, SMU and Boston College. For the past nine years, he has been in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams (1996-97), the Arizona Cardinals (1998-2002) and then Dallas (2003-04).

Gators add 2 to staff

GAINESVILLE _ Florida coach Urban Meyer has added two more members to his staff. Mickey Marotti has been hired as the director of strength and conditioning, replacing Rob Glass, who recently took a job at Oklahoma State. Marotti, 40, had been at Notre Dame since 1998 in the same capacity. Also added is Matt Balis, who has served as director of strength and conditioning for football and men's basketball at Utah since February 2004. Meyer will likely have one more position to fill. Recruiting coordinator and running backs coach Mike Locksley is expected to accept a position today as offensive coordinator at Illinois, reuniting him with former Florida coach Ron Zook.
