Pasco County is on a 60-day rabies alert after two raccoons tested positive for the disease Monday. One of the animals was captured in San Antonio, the other in Wesley Chapel. No people were infected. "One raccoon had contacted dogs, the other had contact with a human but the contact was minimal," Pasco Health Department spokeswoman Carol Cummins said. The Health Department extended the alert to cover the entire county because a kitten contracted the disease in west Pasco in late December. State law requires annual vaccinations for all dogs, cats and ferrets. To report possible rabid animals, call Pasco animal control at (727) 834-3216 or (813) 929-1212.
The phone number for Port Richey's Astro Limo is 1-800-303-3262. A chart accompanying a story about rides to Tampa International Airport in Tuesday's Pasco Times gave a wrong phone number.
