SEC: 'Cats lose top recruit

Joe Crawford, a jewel of the most recent recruiting class, will transfer, coach Tubby Smith said. Smith did not say where he might go. Crawford, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound guard, was one of three McDonald's All-Americans among the Wildcats' freshman class. He averaged 13.3 minutes but played just four minutes on Jan. 5 and three on Sunday. He averaged 3.8 points and 2.4 rebounds.

UCF 70, STETSON 66: Marcus Johnson scored a career-high 18 for the host Knights. E.J. Gordon's two free throws with 33 seconds left brought the Hatters to 68-66. UCF's Gary Johnson then missed the front end of a one-and-one, but Will Holloman's runner in the lane with six seconds left fell short.

JACKSONVILLE 82, FAU 81: David Lee's 3-pointer with four seconds left lifted the visiting Dolphins. Jacksonville trailed 81-73 with 1:20 left before Lee made three consecutive 3-pointers, the final one coming after Aubrey Conerly stole Tywain McTyer's pass.

LA SALLE 74, FIU 72 (OT): Tabby Cunningham scored a career-high 17, including seven in overtime, for the host Explorers. Junior Matias, fouled on a 3-pointer with 3.1 seconds left, made all three free throws for the Panthers to send it to overtime tied at 64. But Cunningham made a driving layup and followed with a steal and layup.

NO. 1 DUKE: Junior point guard Lindsey Harding is out for the season after being suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules. That leaves the Blue Devils with eight scholarship players.

NO. 3 LSU: Freshman forward Ashley Thomas will have surgery to repair her right knee Friday and miss the rest of the season. Thomas, injured Sunday, had played in all 14 games, averaging 9.6 minutes and 1.5 points.
