Star TV gardener will present free lecture

Roger Swain, the red suspendered former host of PBS' The Victory Garden, will present a lecture at 9 a.m. Feb. 2 at the Citrus County Auditorium, 3610 U.S. 41 S. Swain currently is co-host of the half hour weekly show People, Places & Plants with Paul Turkey. A biologist, gardener, writer and storyteller, Swain was born and raised outside Boston. A Harvard graduate, he became the science editor of and contributing author of articles and essays for Horticulture magazine. He has authored five books: Earthly Pleasures, Field Days, The Practical Gardener, Saving Graces and Groundwork.

The public is invited to the free program.

Help soldiers stay in touch with cell phones
