Four college administrators will interview later this month to become the regional vice chancellor of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg.

A search committee selected four finalists from 42 applicants for the post of chief academic officer. They are:

+ Mark Durand, the current dean of the college of arts and science at USF St. Petersburg;

+ Jeanne Gerlach, dean of the college of education and an associate vice president at the University of Texas at Arlington;

+ V.K. Unni, vice president of academic affairs at Bryant University in Rhode Island;

+ Greg Weisenstein, dean of the college of education, health and human development at Montana State University in Bozeman.

Weisenstein has also been named a finalist for a top academic job at the University of North Dakota.

The search committee would like the new hire to begin on campus by July.
