ALBERTSONS CHECKS OUT: The Albertsons grocery store at 610 E Brandon Blvd. is going out of business, according to a spokesman for the company. The store will close within 30 days, said Albertsons spokesman Walt Rubel but will reopen six to eight weeks later as a discount food store. The new grocery will be remodeled and rechristened Super Saver, part of a new Albertsons subsidiary company called Extreme Inc. No date has been set for Super Saver's opening.

NEW LOCATION: Pediatric Health Care Alliance moved to 811 S Parsons Ave., Brandon, on Jan. 7. Regular hours for the evening pediatric health care facility are 6 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Call 655-4510 or log on to

PETS AND SUPPLIES: Pet Palace is scheduled to open Saturday at 406 Shell Point Road, Ruskin. A grand opening celebration is planned for Feb. 12. Turtles, geckos, small birds, exotic birds and supplies for birds and reptiles are for sale. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Call 649-9891.

REMODELING PROJECT: The Waffle House, open since 1973 at 1412 W Brandon Blvd. is being remodeled. Scheduled reopening is Feb. 15 with the same menu including waffles, scrambled eggs and cheese and raisin toast. It will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call 685-4068 on and after Feb. 15.

NEW AAA OFFICE: AAA opened on Dec. 15 in Sun City Center, 717 Cortaro Drive, in the Market Place at Cypress Creek. It is a full service travel and insurance agency with many club service benefits including maps, tour books, Internet trip tickets and notary service. Call 633-4880.
