Wade's hot hand carries Heat past sliding Magic

Dwyane Wade scored 38 points and the Miami Heat shot 58 percent Tuesday night in a 107-93 win over the Orlando Magic, who lost their fifth straight game.

Wade, who scored Miami's final 17 points Sunday in a comeback win over Detroit, again finished strong in less dramatic circumstances. He scored nine straight Heat points to give them a 101-85 lead with three minutes left.

Wade shot 13-for-20 for the Heat, who won despite 20 turnovers to seven for Orlando.

Shaquille O'Neal had 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Heat, who hope to take advantage of a soft stretch in the schedule. Beginning with Tuesday's victory, the Heat play 22 of their next 31 games against teams with losing records.

The Magic, who never led, have lost nine of their past 10 games. They fell to 6-19 on the road.

Miami has won nine of the past 10 in the series. The teams meet again tonight in Orlando, then begin the All-Star break.

Hedo Turkoglu, Steve Francis and Keyon Dooling scored 15 points each for the Magic, and Grant Hill had 12 off the bench in 20 minutes.
