26 are charged in mail, insurance scheme

Twenty-six people were charged with conspiracy to commit mail and insurance fraud, according to an indictment unsealed Wednesday by federal prosecutors.

Prosecutors say that the people worked for or with a company called Trident Venture Group Inc. that staged car accidents and filed false insurance claims for medical care, property damage and pain and suffering from October 2000 through January 2003.

Those indicted are: Elizabeth Caruso, 53, of Tampa; Alfredo Eduardo Polo Padron, 54, of Tampa; Ireno Luis Delgado, 47, of Tampa; Dely Francois, 54, of Tampa; Jean Eustache, 43, of Tampa; Jose Miguel Duque, 37, of Tampa; Carmen Yudith Deleon, 34, of Tampa; Marie Laurent, 48, of Tampa; Heribert Samuel, 59, of Tampa; Christlene Simonvil, 23, of Miami; Alourde St. Louis, 56, of Tampa; Carlos Figueredo-Lopez, 67, of Tampa; Olga Lezcano, 55, of Tampa; Emmanuel Mellon, 45, of Tampa; Vera Maceus, 45, of Tampa; Yvon Edmond, 44, of Fort Pierce; Renald Bernadin, 34, of Tampa; Innocente Dorvil, 61, of Tampa; Shajuanna Kitchen, 26, of Tampa; Ledius Emil, 41, of Tampa; Sharnet Boothe, 27, of Lauderdale Lakes; Frantz Mellon, 43, of Tampa; Jean Maxie Ciril, 41, of Tampa; Denise St. Fleur, 50, of Riverview; Amos Odin, 30, of Tampa; and Mimose Thermitus, 45, of Tampa.
