BENJAMIN, VERNON E. "BEN," 90, of Bradenton, formerly of Tampa, died Thursday (Feb. 16, 2006). He served in the Coast Guard during World War II as an electrical technician on the atomic bomb project at Los Alamos, N.M. He retired from NASA in 1970, where he was a missions requirements officer. He was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron and the American Boat and Yacht Council. He was former president of the Washington, D.C., section of the Instrumental Society of America. He was a sailor.
