Man flees after demanding drugs at Dunedin pharmacy

A man who said he had a gun tried to rob the pharmacy at Walgreens, 2598 Bayshore Blvd., on Monday afternoon but fled before getting any drugs, Pinellas County sheriff's officials said. The man handed a pharmacy technician a note indicating he had a gun and wanted drugs shortly before 1 p.m. He ran out of the store when the technician turned to tell a pharmacist of the demand. Detectives described the robber as an 18- to 25-year-old white male with a medium build, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He wore a dark sweat shirt, jeans and a New York Yankees baseball cap.
