Public input sought on school choice plan

A task force studying the Pinellas school choice plan will ask the public for input at an open forum from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Azalea Middle School, 7855 22nd Ave. N in St. Petersburg.

This is the third of seven meetings hosted by the 47-member panel, which is helping the School Board determine how the system should function after 2007, when the district no longer will be legally required to use race in assigning students to school.

The forum will start with an overview of the task force, followed by a survey of participants using an electronic tallying system.
