When manager Joe Maddon likes what a player brings to the field, he says the player has "good face." Take catcher Shawn Riggans. "It just means he's strong. He's attentive. He's a great leader," Maddon said. "He has an enthusiasm about him that people respond to. He's got good face."
Maddon couldn't say enough about the 13 position players who showed up for a workout two days before full-squad practice is supposed to start.
