Nine contestants competed Sunday in the preliminary round of Seminole Sings, this community's answer to American Idol. This is the second year for the competition, which is open to anyone from 15 to 27 years old. Three more preliminary rounds are scheduled for 1 p.m. at Seminole Mall this Saturday, March 4 and March 12. The finals will be March 31 at the Digitorium on the St. Petersburg College Seminole campus. Winners of the preliminary rounds can take home cash and prizes.
