HILLSBOROUGH OBITUARIES

ARMSTRONG, LENNIE MAE, 89, of Tampa, died Sunday (Feb. 19, 2006). Survivors include a daughter, Linnie; and other family members. Aikens Funeral Home, Tampa.

BAKER, VIRGINIA M., 50, of Tampa, died Tuesday (Feb. 21, 2006) at Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park. She was born in Somerville, N.J., and moved to the Tampa area in 1992 from Fairbanks, Alaska. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Donald C., Tampa; two sons, Donald Christopher and Brian Patrick, both of Tampa; and two brothers, Carl Foerster and Robert Foerster, both of North Plainfield, N.J. North/Meadowlawn Funeral Home, New Port Richey.

CHADWICK, ROBERT JOSEPH, 54, of Lithia, died Monday (Feb. 20, 2006). Survivors include his wife, Nanci; a son, Chris; two daughters, Sondria Reynolds and Tina Chadwick; a brother, Otis; a sister, Barbara Haire; and seven grandchildren. Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, Riverview.

COLDING, WILBUR H., 65, of Lithia, died Monday (Feb. 20, 2006). He was a boilermaker and a member of Boilermakers Union Local 433. Survivors include three sons, Gary, Mulberry, Kim, Lithia, and Michael, Plant City; four brothers, George Waymon, Arthur Lee and Larry, all of Lithia, and Terry, Lake Wales; four sisters, Donna Mae Parker, Orlando, Grace Thompson, Temple Terrace, and Ollie Morgan and Nelcene Hewitt, both of Picnic; and five grandchildren. CURCI, BOBBIE C., 91, of Tampa, died Monday (Feb. 13, 2006). Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Miller; a brother, Charlie Carpenter; two sisters, Jean Hodge and Hazel Batchman; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Blount & Curry Funeral Home, Tampa.

DENISON, HERALD F., 79, of Tampa, died Sunday (Feb. 19, 2006) at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a telephone communications technician who retired from GTE after 37 years. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Elizabeth Bandy Denison; a son, David M.; a daughter, Linda D. Ratliff; a brother, Lawrence E. Denison; a sister, Dona M. Acree; and four grandchildren, Andrew T. Denison, Anson F. and Barrett A. Ratliff, and Jessica L. Smith. Marsicano-B. Marion Reed-Stowers, Tampa.

DULLI, ELSIE LOUISE BOLING, 91, of Tampa, died Tuesday (Feb. 21, 2006). She was born in Ohio and moved to the Tampa area eight years ago. She was a homemaker, and in the early 1950s she and her husband bought Sportsman's Tavern in Hamilton, Ohio. She was known for her chili. She loved to bowl, golf and play bridge. She and her husband also enjoyed dancing at the Hamilton Senior Citizen Center. Survivors include three daughters, Clara Jo-Ann Downer, Ohio, and Robin McManus and Linda Debello, both of Florida; a son, Robert, Maryland; a sister, Christine Shera, Normal, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. HAACK, RUTH ORIEL, 95, of Tampa, died Tuesday (Feb. 21, 2006) at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Chicago and moved to Tampa in 1926 from Pentauter, Mich. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Bessie Shipman and Darlene Barrios, both of Tampa; two brothers, Roy, Tampa, and Marshall Williams, Old Town; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. HUDEK, SUSANNE J., 66, of Tampa, died Sunday (Feb. 19, 2006). She was born in Kenosha, Wis. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Hudek Jr.; three sons, Joe, Jim and John; and six grandchildren, Marsicano-B. Marion Reed-Stowers Funeral Home, Tampa.

JOHNSON, SHIRLEY ANN, 74, of Riverview, died at Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace Saturday (Feb. 18, 2006). She moved to this area in 1993 from Springfield, Ill. Survivors include a son, William David, Palm Bay; three daughters, Vicki Sommer, Brandon, Tammy Menzel, Charlotte, N.C., and Mary Nordlun, Highland Village, Texas; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. MESSER, WARREN G., 87, of Tampa, died Monday (Feb. 20, 2006). He was a native of Riverview and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He was co-owner of Buffalo Sheet Metal until he retired. He was a past president and life member of Tampa Collectors Club, and a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church before transferring to Seminole Heights United Methodist Church. He was an avid stamp collector since childhood. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lois; a son, Larry Messer, Tampa; a daughter, Sharon Folsom, Tampa; four grandchildren; three great-grandsons; two brothers, Bernard Messer, Brandon, and James Messer, Tampa; Garden of Memories Funeral Home, Tampa.

MIRANDA-ORTIZ, JOSE LUIS, 66, of Tampa, died Sunday (Feb. 19, 2006). He was born in Puerto Rico and enlisted in the Air Force in 1958, where he was an aeromedical technician. He was selected by the Air Force to attend Syracuse University to complete his degree and become an officer. He retired from the Air Force in 1984. He was a member of St. Timothy and St. Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ana Mari; a daughter, Mariangeli; three sons, Jose L. Jr., Mario and Fernando; a sister, Elizabeth; two brothers, Ruben and Zoilin; a stepmother, Tita; and three grandchildren. Gonzalez Funeral Home, Tampa.

MUNOZ, GLORIA LALA, 77, died Friday (Feb. 17, 2006). Survivors include her husband, Osvaldo;, a son, Michael Patrick Lala; a stepson, Gilbert Munoz; a stepdaughter, Joyce Schenfield; three brothers, Albert, Mariano and Ralph Hernandez: three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. NEMECEK, ELIZABETH EMMA, 83, of Tampa, formerly of Inverness, died Monday (Feb. 20, 2006) in the Carrollwood Care Center of Tampa. Born in New York City, she came to Inverness in 1979 from Centereach, N.Y., and moved to Tampa in 1989. She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church of Inverness. Survivors include two sons, Stephen, Ashford, Conn., and John, Brookline, Mass.; three daughters, Helen Britt, Marysville, Ohio, Barbara Hubbard, Lutz, and Betty Estrada, Tamarac; a brother, Fred Miller, Durham, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. QUIGLEY, JAMES M., 56, of Tampa, died Sunday (Feb. 19, 2006). He was a doctor. Survivors include his wife, Sandra J.; three sons, Sean, Ryan and Brett; his parents, James and Genevieve; and five sisters, Ann Gaviria, Joan Howard, Claire Quigley, Mary Quigley-Hitz and Beth Ferencsik. RAMSEY, FLOYD C., 90, of Tampa, died Sunday (Feb. 19, 2006). He lived in Tampa for 73 years. He was a member of First Church of Nazarene and the Gideon Society. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Charlotte J.; two sons, Don and Jim; three daughters, Betty Cooper, Marilyn Lozen and Dorothy Jean Musil; two sisters, Flora Lynch and Grace Walker; 20 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. STEELE, CYNTHIA DORIS POWELL THOMPSON, 92, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Tampa, died Monday (Feb. 20, 2006). She was a longtime Tampa resident until three years ago. She was a member of the Credit Women's Club and Areme chapter of Eastern Star. She was also a founding member and former president of Big Sisters of Tampa and a longtime member of Oak Grove Methodist Church. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and aiding cancer patient rehabilitation. Survivors include a son, R. William Thompson; two sisters, Sara Stribling, Tampa, and Jean Fennel, Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, W.D. Powell Jr., Tampa; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Swilley Funeral Home, Tampa.

WILEN, WILLIAM "BILL," 80, of Tampa, died Monday (Feb. 20, 2006). He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and moved to Tampa in 1970 from North Miami Beach. He was a member of Congregation Beth Am, Beth Am Brotherhood and Beth Am Poker Club. He was a private pilot. Survivors include his wife, Golda Brunhild-Wilen; a son, Alvin, Snow Hill, N.C.; a daughter, Linda Krasney, Tampa; three brothers, Murray Wilensky, Jericho, N.Y., and Harold Wilensky and Raymond Wilensky, both of North Miami Beach. WOOD, RANSFORD GRAHAM, 93, of Tampa, died Tuesday (Feb. 21, 2006). He was born in Blackington, Mass., and moved to Tampa from Cranford, N.J., in 1978. He was a printer and typesetter for a magazine printer. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Izora, Tampa; a son, Dallas, Tampa; a brother, William, Clearwater; and two grandchildren.
