West Coast man accused of lewd act over Internet

A Washington state man was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on Wednesday accused of fondling himself and transmitting the video over the Internet to a detective posing as a girl from Safety Harbor.

Frank Fattal, 53, of Lynnwood, Wash., was extradited to Florida on charges of lewd or lascivious exhibition and conduct and was being held without bail.

Fattal, who previously has been accused of exposing himself to children in Washington, struck up an Internet conversation in October 2005 with sheriff's Detective Matthew Miller, who was posing as a ninth-grade girl, according to an arrest warrant.

Fattal, using the screen name "frankseattle2001," masturbated in front of his Web camera, which was transmitting to Miller, the warrant states. Fattal later asked for a "sexy" photo of the girl.

On a second occasion in October, Fattal again masturbated over the Internet after chatting with the detective in the "Britney Spears" Internet chat room, the warrant states.

Computer records led Miller to identify Fattal as a suspect and ultimately to obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Authorities in Washington state told Miller that Fattal was a suspect in three sex-related incidents involving minors, the warrant states.
