Citrus Fire Rescue gets Homeland Security grant

Citrus County Fire Rescue has been awarded more than $20,000 in federal funds as part of a national grant to help the country's fire service community, according to a statement from U.S. Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, R-Brooksville. The money comes from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters, Fire Prevention and Safety Grants program. The program gives funds for the purchase of firefighting equipment, personal protection equipment, training, firefighting vehicles and firefighter safety projects.
