KEEPING IT CLEAN AND SAFE

Volunteer ranger Nova Bickell, 57, of Palm Harbor sweeps away pebbles and dirt this month from the intersection of Florida Avenue and the Pinellas Trail while on one of his five weekly bicycle rides in Palm Harbor. Bickell said he rides 90 to 120 miles weekly looking for hazards on the trail that could hurt cyclists, joggers, pedestrians or skaters. He said he patrols for the county but also for his wife, Lorraine Bickell, 58, who rides in-line skates on the trail.
