The Sharks were in complete control, then it all came crashing down.

Springstead pulled out a 9-8 comeback victory by the skin of its teeth over county rival Nature Coast Tech on Friday night.

Nature Coast Tech, behind stellar pitching from Joe Sylvestri (1-0), led 8-2 after four innings.

In the six-run fourth, Sylvestri helped his cause with a three-run double. After Sylvestri was pulled by coach Dan Garofano, Springstead jumped all over the Sharks' relievers and scored seven unanswered.

Sylvestri finished with six strikeouts and only one earned run.

The Springstead offense was led by third baseman Justin Jacobs. Jacobs was 2-for-2 with two walks, a single, a double, four RBIs and two runs scored.

The Eagles (3-2) received a shaky outing from starting pitcher Mike Angrick (0-1), but coach Frank Vitale finally pulled Angrick in favor of reliever Tom Dwyer (1-0). Angrick gave up all eight of the Nature Coast runs, though only four were earned.

Dwyer pitched the final 3 2/3 innings without surrendering a hit and received credit for the win.

Nature Coast fell to 2-3.
