The Scoliosis Association of Palm Harbor will hold a 1 1/2-mile walkathon from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 25 at John Chesnut Sr. Park, 2200 East Lake Road.
The walk is part of a "Sweep across America" for the Scoliosis Research Society that will start in Florida and end in California in September.
The goal of the local group is to raise $30,000. There is currently no cure for scoliosis, a curvature of the spine that affects nearly three percent of the population, according to information from chapter president Debbie Ordes.
The group could use walkers, children or adults, and some sponsors. It costs $10 to register and includes a T-shirt, goody bag and prizes.
