A Largo woman promised a man sex - but only after he signed a marriage contract stating that what was his, was now hers, a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office report said.
Geneva "Jenny" Edwards, 51, was arrested at the Largo victim's mobile home Saturday on counts of exploitation of the elderly, scheme to defraud between $20,000 and $50,000, grand theft and possession of prescription drugs, all felonies. Authorities also charged Edwards with a misdemeanor count of obstruction by disguise for giving a false name and birth date to a law enforcement officer.
Edwards was wanted in Pasco County for felony grand theft, burglary and failure to appear in court; in Hillsborough County for fraudulent use of a person's identification; and in Polk County for misdemeanor cruelty to animals.
The 72-year-old victim, a resident of Sun Seair Mobile Home and RV Park, had known Edwards for just two days before authorities say she persuaded him to sign a fake marriage contract handing over all his possessions. Edwards told the man she would have sex with him, but only after he agreed to the contract, the report said.
Edwards then stole $2,200 from the man and tried to coerce him into withdrawing $10,000 from his bank account by using "an elaborate, fictitious story," according to an arrest affidavit.
Edwards was held Sunday at Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $65,500 bail.
