Newsome coach Graham heads back to Alabama

Saying he wanted to "return home," Newsome coach Floyd Graham resigned after three seasons to become the athletic director and football coach at Isabella High in Maplesville, Ala.

"There was an opportunity to get into administration and be the head football coach," said Graham, who grew up in Montgomery, Ala., and attended Troy State University (now Troy University). "Plus it was home. It just felt right."

Graham, 36, started Newsome's football program, which went 9-19 after the school opened just three years ago.

"I loved my time at Newsome," said Graham, who served as an assistant for a few years before going to Newsome. "I loved the kids and the administration and I think the football program is headed in the right direction. I will miss the place, but going (to Alabama) is something I feel I need to do."

EAGLES COACH: Brandon officials announced Monday that coach Jim Wilt has resigned after three seasons and a 13-18 record. Wilt leaves Brandon after going 5-6 with a district title this past season. Before Brandon, Wilt was the coach at East Bay and Durant, and an administrator at Riverview.
