Tourist tax dollars will finance the $7,000 fee for renting the billboard. The design was by Gold & Associates, the county's marketing firm, and features vivid images of waterborne activities that have become the signature for Citrus County's tourism development efforts. Mary Craven, the county's tourism development manager, said the county has been looking for the appropriate location for the billboard for some time and was pleased with the site. "Gold found us a great location for a fantastic price," Craven said. This is the council's first billboard advertising Citrus.
