BEHIND THE SCENES: Before the ceremony, a plane flew around Stewart Field with a banner that read "Congrats SPHS grads. Valedictorian Luv Patel. Mom and Dad." SPHS cheerleaders sold bottled water to raise money for cheer camp.

SOMETHING NEW: Faculty wore gowns and hoods to this year's commencement for the first time.

CLASS SONG: Alma Mater, I Believe, My Way and Bring on Tomorrow

CLASS GIFT: The Friendship Basket, an SPHS tradition since 1914.

AFTERWARD: The PTSA sponsors an all-night graduation party at the Jim and Heather Gills YMCA in St. Petersburg.
