GRADUATION DAY 2006

SEMINOLE HIGH SCHOOL

NUMBER OF STUDENTS WALKING IN CEREMONY: 411

SIZE OF CLASS WHEN IT STARTED HIGH SCHOOL: 691

VALEDICTORIANS: Sarah Greene and Kiryssa Kasprzyk

SPEAKERS: Seminole Mayor Dottie Reeder gave the welcome. Greene and Kasprzyk provided the valedictory orations. Regan Riley gave the senior class president's address.

BEST QUOTE: "Life as we know it is about to change for good," said William Norris, the salutatorian.

CLASS ACCOMPLISHMENTS: The class is receiving $23-million in college scholarships. About 90 percent are going to college.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Though it was 8 a.m., people munched on hot dogs topped with relish or pretzels dipped in nacho cheese from the concession stand at Progress Energy Park. They had time to eat: A shuttle transporting those who parked at a Tropicana Fields lot was late, delaying the ceremony for a half hour.

KODAK MOMENT: Before the ceremony began, the antsy crowd looked up from the stands in confusion as a plane buzzed several times in a circle overheard, streaming behind it a banner that read, "Alex K I Love You To Infinity XO Momma."

CLASS SONG: Bring on Tomorrow from the movie Fame

CLASS GIFT: Money for a marquee sign for the front of the school. The total is being tabulated.
