DICK, MAUD, 87, of Brooksville, died Friday (July 21, 2006) at Town and Country Hospital, Tampa. She was a lifelong resident of Brooksville. She was a nurses aide at Lykes Memorial Hospital and was Baptist. She worked in the church nursery. Survivors include a sister, Myrtle Sistrunk, Melbourne; and several nephews and nieces. JONES, HOWARD, 96, of Brooksville, died Friday (July 21, 2006) at Brooksville Regional Hospital. Born in Garrard County, Ky., he came here in 1955 from Cincinnati, Ohio. He played the saxophone and was in a band with his twin brother for several years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brooksville, and in 1975 was president of the Fair Association and chairman of the Hernando County Health Facility Advisory Board. He was a volunteer for the Sertoma Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include a son, Douglas, Reno, Nev.; three granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Jones, Inverness. Turner Funeral Homes, Brooksville.
UNDERWOOD, EDNA, 83, of Brooksville, died Thursday (July 20, 2006) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice. Born in Ames, Iowa, she was a resident of the Brooksville area since 1950. She was the former owner of Storks Nest and secretary for First United Methodist Church. She was a character member of the Brooksville Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, where she was active for more than 50 years. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Russell Wall, Brooksville; two granddaughters, Mary Catherine Wall, Clearwater, and Christina S. Wall, Brooksville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
