An ethics complaint against County Commission candidate Rose Rocco has been found "legally insufficient," according to a letter the Florida Elections Commission sent to the complainant.
Spring Hill resident Antonio Callari questioned Rocco's use of the same phone number and e-mail address for her campaign and Operation PRIDE, a nonprofit organization Rocco runs.
Rocco said she provided the contact information as a courtesy, and paid for it out of her own pocket. She said no money moved between Operation PRIDE and her campaign.
According to the Elections Commission, it's perfectly legal for Operation PRIDE to donate to her campaign anyway.
Callari has 21 days to appeal the Oct. 19 letter. He did not return calls from the Times seeking comment. Rocco said she's not allowed to comment on the issue, and the Election Commission doesn't comment on such complaints.
