Main Street Holidays Dec. 1-3; 9

The River Lights Boat Parade and the Holiday Rotary Club Street Parade will highlight Main Street Holidays in downtown New Port Richey. There will be a Shop 'n Stroll of downtown shops until 8:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and 7 p.m. Dec. 2. On Dec. 2, there will be visits with Santa from noon to 3 p.m. in Sims Park and the River Lights Boat Parade at 6:30 p.m. from Moonlight Bay to Sims Park, followed by a performance by Expressions, the Dance Company in the amphitheater. On Dec. 2 and 3, there will be Miss Daisy Boat Tours on the Cotee River ($5), food vendors and a Holiday Arts and Crafts Village from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and children's arts and crafts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Dec. 3, children and parents may join Santa and Mrs. Claus for breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. ($3 for pancakes, sausage and juice; gifts for the first 100 children) in the park. Genesis School will perform "Christmas Around the World" at 3:30 p.m. On Dec. 9, the Holiday Rotary Club Street Parade will be at 7 p.m.

Poetry Jam Dec. 1

Pasco-Hernando Community College will hold Celebration of Poetry from 7 to 9 p.m. at the north campus, 11415 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Brooksville, in room A-139. Faculty, staff, students and the community are invited to listen and participate. Those wanting to read their poems should call Richard Downing at (352) 797-5123.

Spectacular Vegas Show Dec. 1

The Polish American Pulaski Association will present impersonators Tommy O & Marilyn and Dawn Behrens Vega in "From Elvis to Pavarotti" at a dinner show. Dinner is from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m., followed by the show. Dinner and show, $22. Call Leona at (727) 376-8149.

Progress Energy Art Gallery Dec. 1

The exhibit "Wiggle, Slither, Romp & Climb: Animals in Art" will open with an artists' reception at 6 p.m. at the gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Artists are Lisa Ward Landsman, Sali Dalton, Arthur Bell, Suzanne Natzke, Edwina Curtis and Nancy Jacey. The gallery is open noon to 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. The exhibit will be at the gallery through Jan. 31.

Stage West Community Playhouse auditions Dec. 1 and 3

Stage West will hold auditions for the musical farce A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 and 1 p.m. Dec. 3 at the theatre, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Art quilt demonstration Dec. 2

Pasco Arts Council will present "It's All About the Fabric!" a talk about art quilts by Susanne McCoy, at 10 a.m. at the art center, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. At 11 a.m., there will be a demonstration on fused fabric collage techniques. The center's "Holiday House" gift shop will be open through Dec. 22.

Amahl and the Night Visitors Dec. 2

Florida Lyric Opera will present Amahl and the Night Visitors, starring Mary K. Wilson and narrated by John Wilson, at 7 p.m. at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St., Tarpon Springs. The short opera will be followed by favorite songs by the Wilsons. Sugar Plum Fairy Party Dec. 3

The Centre for Dance, Drama & Music will hold the "Sugar Plum Character Party," from 2 to 4 p.m. at its studio, 6648 Ridge Road, Port Richey. Those who attend will meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and her friends from the Nutcracker Ballet. The characters will perform excerpts from the ballet and pose for photos with their guests. Richey Suncoast Theatre auditions Dec. 3-4

Richey Suncoast Theatre will hold auditions for the musical Anything Goes at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 and 4 at the theater, 6237 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Roles are available for male and female singers, dancers, singer-dancers and actors of all ages. Experienced and novice stage crew members are also needed. Production dates are Feb. 22-March 11. Thursday Musicale Dec. 7

The non-sectarian chorus of 50 women will present a concert at 2 p.m. at Living Word Church, 5151 Rowan Road, New Port Richey. Guest performer is John Timpanelli. Admission is free, but an offering will be accepted.

The 1940's Radio Hour Dec. 8-10; 15-17

The musical, set in a 1942 radio station, will be presented at 8 p.m. Dec. 8, 9, 15 and 16 and 2 p.m. Dec. 10 and 17 at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St., Tarpon Springs. Tickets are $15, reserved seating, $13 members and students. Call 942-5605.

Ozark Mountain Christmas Show Dec. 9
