Guardian Ad Litem: 13920 17th St., provides court-appointed advocates of abused or neglected children who are going through the court processes. Needed: volunteers to research their cases and make recommendations to the court. Call (352) 521-5178.

Migrant Self Help: 37240 Lock St., encourages self-development of farm workers through advocacy and education. The agency runs a thrift store where donated clothing is sold to farm workers and the community. Needed: lawn mower, flour, cash donations, canned food, grains, pasta, linens, office and educational supplies (computers, typewriters, fax machines, etc.), rakes, shovels, nursery supplies (especially ornamental plants), lumber and clothing. Sunrise of Pasco County: 12724 Smith Road, provides shelter, food, job and rape counseling, court advocacy, information and referral and basic supplies for abused women and children. Needed: gift cards for variety stores, canned foods and meat, phone cards, fresh vegetables and meat, laundry supplies, heavy garbage bags, volunteers, general housekeeping items, disposable diapers, paper products, alarm clocks, educational toys, children's videos and cash donations. CARES (Community Aging and Retirement Services Inc.) Hudson Bayonet Point Enrichment Center: 12417 Clock Tower Parkway, is an active senior center that promotes quality of life and independence through health, social and supportive services. Needed: volunteers in the cafe, which is open to the public, dishwashers, maintenance workers, a receptionist and computer instructors. Gulf Coast Community Care and Homeless Shelter: 7801 Maryland Ave., provides shelter for women and children. Needed: meats, canned foods, feminine hygiene products, baby diapers (all sizes), furniture, cleaning supplies, paper goods, store gift certificates and cash. Call (727) 861-4840.

Holy Ground: 8835 Denton Ave. provides support groups, parenting and life-skills classes and shelter for homeless people. Needed: disposable diapers, powdered drink mixes for children, office supplies, items for thrift store sale such as clothing, household goods, furniture, appliances, cars, boats and trailers. Salvation Army Domestic Violence Shelter: provides shelter for abused women. Needed: volunteers, cleaning supplies, laundry soap, bleach, garbage bags, paper towels, disposable diapers (especially larger sizes), medications, cosmetics, food and cash donations.
