Samantha Briley and Brandon Lawson, both of Gainesville, explore Potts Preserve in Citrus County after slipping away from a UF-FSU football party Briley's mother was attending nearby. The teen couple walked down the Withlacoochee River trail, a 4-mile-long route that is part of the 30 miles of trails at the preserve. It provides habitats for wildlife, and camping and hiking trails for people as it protects the area's groundwater.
