Migrant Self Help: 37240 Lock St., encourages self-development of farm workers through advocacy and education. The agency runs a thrift store where donated clothing is sold to farm workers and the community. Needed: lawn mower, flour, cash donations, canned food, grains, pasta, linens, office and educational supplies (computers, typewriters, fax machines, etc.), rakes, shovels, nursery supplies (especially ornamental plants), lumber and clothing. CARES (Community Aging and Retirement Services Inc.) Hudson Bayonet Point Enrichment Center: 12417 Clock Tower Parkway, is an active senior center that promotes quality of life and independence through health, social and supportive services. Needed: volunteers in the cafe, which is open to the public, dishwashers, maintenance workers, a receptionist and computer instructors. Holy Ground: 8835 Denton Ave. provides support groups, parenting and life-skills classes and shelter for homeless people.
