Fire Chief Daniel H. Graves was recently awarded the designation of chief fire officer by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.
Graves is one of only 505 chief fire officers worldwide. The chief fire officer designation program is voluntary and is designed to recognize individuals who demonstrate excellence in seven areas: experience, education, professional development, professional contributions, association memberships, community involvement and technical competencies.
A board of review comprising members of the fire and emergency service profession, academia and municipal agencies looks at each application and recommends successful candidates for designation to the commission.
