Obituaries

Bewsher, Carolyn Welter, 65, of Beverly Hills, died Saturday (Nov. 25, 2006) in Beverly Hills. Born in Allentown, Pa., she came here five years ago from Gainesville. She was a registered nurse for more than 40 years. She earned a master's degree in education. She taught nursing students at the Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville and worked in cancer research for the University of Florida and the National Cancer Coalition. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Crystal River, where she volunteered with the church food pantry and was a member of the Women's Club. She was a former treasurer of Parkside Village Homeowners Association. She enjoyed travel, antiquing, reading, ceramics and playing the piano. She also enjoyed family times. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Robert B.; a son, Timothy, High Springs; a daughter, Karin Marshall, Tampa; a sister, Barbara Talaber, Pennsylvania; several nephews and nieces; and two grandchildren. Bulger, Julianne C., 85, of Beverly Hills, formerly of Citrus Springs, died Saturday (Nov. 25, 2006) in Lecanto. Born in Chicago, she moved to Citrus Springs in 1972 from Matteson, Ind., and in 1999 moved to Beverly Hills. She was a former railroad ticket agent for the Illinois Central Railroad with 20 years of service in Chicago. She was an emergency medical technician in the Citrus Springs area in the 1970s and 1980s. She enjoyed the study of Native American culture. She was a former president of the Rainbow Springs Women's Club, a member of the Dunnellon Women's Club and Citrus County Shooting Club and attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was a former member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where she assisted in writing the church bulletin. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Charles E.; a son, Jeremiah F., Ocala; two daughters, Eileen L. Bulger, San Francisco, and Julianne M. Bulger, Loma Mar, Calif.; a sister, Lucile K. Herbert, Anaheim, Calif.; several nephews and nieces; 13 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Fero Funeral Home With Crematory, Beverly Hills.

Herbert, Charles S., 53, of Homosassa, died Sunday (Nov. 26, 2006) in Homosassa. Born in Leonardtown, Md., he came here in 1978 from Hollywood, Md. He was an Army veteran and an automobile mechanic. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Survivors include his mother, Mary Herbert, Homosassa; and two brothers, Lloyd S., Inverness, and Lawrence E., Waldorf, Maine. Malz, Elizabeth V. "Betty," 82, of Inverness, died Sunday (Nov. 26, 2006). Born in Scranton, Pa., she came to Inverness in 1977 from St. Petersburg. She was a retired bookkeeper. Survivors include a son, Keith, and a daughter-in-law and caregiver, Eleonore Malz, both of Inverness; a daughter, Kathy Mitchell Paul, St. Petersburg; several nephews and nieces; and four grandsons. Nerron, Henry A., 86, of Crystal River, died Sunday (Nov. 26, 2006) in Crystal River. Born in Putnam, Conn., he came here 16 years ago from Dayville, Conn. He was a former service technician for Butler Fuel in Oxford, Mass. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was a member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Richard R. Roy, Newington, Conn., and Daniel P. Roy, Fabyan, Conn.; a daughter, Dianne Fernandes, Homosassa; two sisters, Reta Szivecz, San Antonio, Texas, and Lillian Rucki, Fabyan, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Retzloff, Patricia Anne, 56, of Homosassa, died Friday (Nov. 24, 2006) at home under the care of her family. Survivors include her husband, Karl; three daughters, Judith Edlund and Edith Edlund, both of Homosassa, and Tamara Retzloff, Georgia; four sons, Lawrence Risner, Homosassa, Karl W. Retzloff Jr., Dunedin, Christopher Retzloff, Michigan, and Timothy Retzloff, California; three brothers, Jackie Hutchinson, Crystal River, Nathan and Phillip Hutchinson, both of Homosassa; two sisters, Marlene and Cynthia Hutchinson, both of Homosassa; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Roberts, Horace Ethridge "Buddy," 82, of Dunnellon, died Saturday (Nov. 25, 2006) at Munroe Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Geneva, Ala., and came here in 1983 from Dunnellon. He was truck driver for Central Truck Lines and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a participant in the Battle of the Bulge. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Georgia Z.; three sons, Dennis, Deltona, Michael, Clearwater, and Kevin, Pennsylvania; a stepson, Lou Zinser, Crystal River; three stepdaughters, Susan Geohagan, Dunnellon, Carol McCoppin, Valdosta, Ga., and Linda Boutwell, Homosassa; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
