'A Show Palace Christmas' Through Dec. 25

Holiday glitz and glamor at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson. Main Street Holidays Fri.-Sun and Dec. 9

The River Lights Boat Parade and the Holiday Rotary Club Street Parade will highlight Main Street Holidays in downtown New Port Richey. There will be a Shop 'n stroll of downtown shops until 8:30 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday. On Saturday, there will be visits with Santa from noon to 3 p.m. in Sims Park and the River Lights Boat Parade at 6:30 p.m. from Moonlight Bay to Sims Park, followed by a performance by Expressions, the Dance Company in the amphitheater. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be Miss Daisy Boat Tours on the Cotee River ($5), food vendors and a Holiday Arts and Crafts Village from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and children's arts and crafts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Sunday, children and parents may join Santa and Mrs. Claus for breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. ($3 for pancakes, sausage and juice; gifts for the first 100 children) in the park. Genesis School will perform "Christmas Around the World" at 3:30 p.m. On Dec. 9, the Holiday Rotary Club Street Parade will be at 7 p.m.

Poetry Jam Friday

Pasco-Hernando Community College will hold Celebration of Poetry from 7 to 9 p.m. at the north campus, 11415 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Brooksville, in room A-139. Progress Energy Art Gallery Friday

The exhibit "Wiggle, Slither, Romp & Climb: Animals in Art" will open with an artists' reception at 6 p.m. at the gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Artists are Lisa Ward Landsman, Sali Dalton, Arthur Bell, Suzanne Natzke, Edwina Curtis and Nancy Jacey. The gallery is open noon to 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. The exhibit will be at the gallery through Jan. 31.

Spectacular Vegas Show Friday

The Polish American Pulaski Association will present impersonators Tommy O & Marilyn and Dawn Behrens Vega in "From Elvis to Pavarotti" at a dinner show. Dinner is from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m., followed by the show. Dinner and show, $22. Call Leona at (727) 376-8149.

Stage West Community Playhouse auditions Friday and Sunday

Stage West will hold auditions for the musical farce A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at 7 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Sunday at the theatre, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Art quilt demonstration Sat.

Pasco Arts Council will present "It's All About the Fabric!" a talk about art quilts by Susanne McCoy, at 10 a.m. at the art center, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. At 11 a.m., there will be a demonstration on fused fabric collage techniques. The center's "Holiday House" gift shop will be open through Dec. 22.

Winter Holiday Festival Sat.

At Hudson Regional Library, 8012 Library Road, Hudson. Santa and Mrs. Claus will sing carols and talk about the legend of Santa Claus at noon. A book sale is from noon to 4 p.m. Gotta Dance Studio students will perform at 1 p.m. The Hudson Middle/High Upbeat will sing and dance at 2 p.m. Holiday gift-making tips with Miss Amy is from 1 to 4 p.m.

Amahl and the Night Visitors Sat.

Florida Lyric Opera will present Amahl and the Night Visitors, starring Mary K. Wilson and narrated by John Wilson, at 7 p.m. at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St., Tarpon Springs. The short opera will be followed by favorite songs by the Wilsons. Tickets are $15, reserved seating, $13 center members and students. Call 942-5605.

Sugar Plum Fairy Party Sun.

The Centre for Dance, Drama & Music will hold the "Sugar Plum Character Party," from 2 to 4 p.m. at its studio, 6648 Ridge Road, Port Richey. Those who attend will meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and her friends from the Nutcracker Ballet. The characters will perform excerpts from the ballet and pose for photos with their guests.
