Drug plan a work in progress

Two months into its $4 generic drugs program, it is unclear whether Wal-Mart is, meeting its goal of turning a profit. As a result, some drugs have been dropped and the retailer raised prices to $9 on some drugs in states with unfair-competition laws. "It can only be in our program if it is profitable," said Wal-Mart's Bill Simon. Wal-Mart declines to provide much data about the program.
