Alonso High, 356-1525: The school's holiday book fair will take place 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 8 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 9. at the school, 8302 Montague St.

The band will hold a concert at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the auditorium.

The spring sports meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria. Information for baseball, flag football, softball, tennis and track and field will be handed out.

Bartels Middle, 907-6801: Yearbooks will be on sale through Dec. 8.

Bellamy Elementary, 872-5387: The school will hold its Breakfast with Santa from 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday.

The school's holiday concert will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Alonso High, 8302 Montague St.

Bryant Elementary, 356-1645: The school is holding a book collection drive for Cleveland Elementary. New books can be dropped off in each classroom or at the front office.

Wednesday is Papa John's Dinner night for the school.

BroncoDiscount Cards are now on sale for $8.

Davidsen Middle, 558-5300: The school is asking parents to send in old magazines appropriate for middle school students. The magazines will be used by homeroom teachers. The homeroom that collects the most magazines will win a breakfast party. Please black out your name and mailing address.

Farnell Middle, 356-1640: A parent ePEP meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the cafeteria, 13912 Nine Eagles Drive.

Candy Grams will be for sale from 8:30 a.m.-9:15 a.m. Wednesday-Dec. 8.

Freedom High, 558-1185: Nonperishable items for the food pantry can be deposited in collection bins at the front of the school.

Empty ink jet and laser printer cartridges can be turned in at the front office. The PTSA receives cash back on these items.

King High, 744-8333: "A Christmas Carol" will be performed tonight at the school, 6815 N. 56 St., and a silent auction will be held before the show begins and during intermission.

Independent Day School, 961-3087: The school will hold an admissions open house at 8:30 a.m. today at the school, 12015 Orange Grove Drive. The school, which has prekindergarten through eighth grade classes, will present an overview of the school, its academic curriculum and its fine arts, sports and technology programs.

McKitrick Elementary, 558-5427: The school's holiday shop will be open Monday-Dec. 8.

Schwarzkopf Elementary, 975-6945: Field day will be today.

Tampa Palms Elementary, 975-7390: The Giving Tree is now up in the school's media center. Families are asked to take a tag and buy gifts for that person or family. Gifts are due in the front office by Wednesday.

Busch Gardens' Physics Day: The amusement park will open an hour early, at 9 a.m., Friday for physics students who will be hearing presentations throughout the day about "Physics in Motion." Physics Day student tickets cost $36, and one complimentary chaperone ticket is provided for every 10 student tickets. Additional chaperone tickets can be purchased for $41. Call 1-888-800-5447.

Community scholars: MetroPCS is offering scholarships to high school seniors who have made a difference through community service. The wireless company will award 10 $1,000 scholarships to seniors who plan to enroll as full-time undergraduates at a college or university.
