Parliamentarians meet: Citrus County Unit of Parliamentarians will meet at 1 p.m. in the recreational building at Whispering Pines Park, 1700 Forest Ave., Inverness. Marge Picot will discuss "Standing and Special Committees.'' There will be a question and answer period for discussion of real life problems and experiences. Two-day yard sale begins: Joe Nick Barco VFW 7122 will sponsor a yard sale from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., same hours Saturday, next to the post, 8237 S Florida Ave., Floral City. Lots of items.

Benefit concert: Proceeds from today's concert by Mike Jurgensen will benefit Mike Roberts, local musician and radio personality, to help defray funeral costs for his daughter and two grandchildren killed recently in a car accident near Nashville, Tenn. Doors open at 7 p.m., open mic begins at 7:30 and Jurgensen, from Tarpon Springs, performs at 8:30, Woodview Coffee House, 2628 Woodview Lane, Lecanto. Special guests include Kate Hart, James Hawkins, Boone's Fork and other poets and musicians. Donation $4. Call Jim Davis at 726-9814.

SATURDAY

Woodcarving show: sponsored by the Nature Coast Carving Club from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Citrus County Auditorium, 3610 S Florida Ave., Inverness. Continual demonstrations, vendors selling supplies, woods, instruction books, finishing material, knives and more. Approximately 100 carved Christmas ornaments given as door prizes. Admission $2. Santa Fly-In: sponsored by Tri-County R/C/ Club begins at 8:30 a.m. at the club's fly field on Bridges Road in Dunnellon. Landing fee is a new unwrapped toy with a value of at least $10. Spectators welcome, and encouraged to bring a toy for the Toys for the Kids drive cosponsored by the Dunnellon Fire Department. Rainbow Cafe open. Call Chris, 527-9893.

Day two of sale: An antique and collectible sale is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and today at 9115 N Arcadia Way, Citrus Springs. The sale will benefit the Covenant Children's Home, a facility to house eight school age children in need of long term shelter. Jam session: Citrus Jazz Society jam session of jazz and Dixieland music starts at 1:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Plantation Inn, 9301 Fort Island Trail, Crystal River. Music will be provided by local members, dancing is encouraged. Donation: nonmembers $7. Call 795-9936.

Singing Christmas Tree: The Celebration Choir and dance and drama participants of Crystal River First Baptist Church will present the first performance of Journey to the Manger at 4 p.m., 700 Citrus Ave., Crystal River.
