Safety Will Allen expects to play Sunday at Pittsburgh, despite missing most of the week's practices with an ankle injury sustained Thanksgiving Day.
Allen practiced Friday.
"It feels real good," said Allen, who is listed as questionable. "I've got to get ready for the game."
Allen was injured making a tackle for loss at Dallas, but remained on the field. The next play, he slipped trying to change direction in coverage, leaving receiver Terry Glenn open in the end zone for a touchdown.
Allen says the ankle injury was not a factor.
"I just slipped," he said. "It was hurting, but if I'm going to be out on the field I can't slip."
Tight end Alex Smith, who did not play against Dallas, also returned to practice for the first time since injuring an ankle Nov. 19 against Washington.
Smith and four others are questionable: cornerback Juran Bolden (shin), running back Michael Pittman (hamstring/shoulder), linebacker Shelton Quarles (knee/ankle) and defensive tackle Ellis Wyms (ankle). Quarles and Wyms missed the past three games.
YOU TAKE IT: There should be plenty of chances for turnovers Sunday. The Steelers are last in the league with a minus-12 ratio, the Bucs 28th at minus-8.
