A new local Web site www. whatadealtampabay.com now offers coupons and specials online from area businesses.
"It is an online way for people, free of charge, without any obligation, to find discounts and deals," director Dan Eassa said.
The Web site offers up specials from any type of business - from beauty salons, child care centers, restaurants and dry cleaners. It's a one-stop shop for coupons, Eassa said.
The site currently covers businesses in the Westchase, Odessa, Town 'N Country, Citrus Park and Oldsmar areas and wants to expand into downtown and South Tampa soon.
Eassa came up with the idea for www.whatadealtampabay. com after receiving countless coupon books that were never on hand at the right time or expired before he thought to use them. The site, launched in October, received 2,500 hits its first month. Traffic increased to 5,000 hits in November.
Eassa has been scouring stores, introducing them to the Web site and soliciting for coupons. "My biggest challenge is getting people to change their habits," Eassa said.
But once people get used to stopping online before heading to a hair appointment or to lunch, he said he thinks they'll make great use of the deals. Call (813) 217-3700.
