As Tampa Bay fans focus on the Bucs-Steelers game, longtime Pittsburgh resident Rob Marshall, director of Chicago and Memoirs of a Geisha, told us the city has "serious readers" as well as serious sports fans.

What is on your nightstand?

I have a pile of scripts on my nightstand because I am in the midst of deciding on my next movie. However, I did recently re-read Agatha Christie's Evil Under the Sun when I was on vacation. I'm starting Running With Scissors by Augusten Burroughs. I want to read it before I see the film.

Sounds like you are a constant reader. What is your favorite genre?

You know, I was raised to be a reader. Since my father was an English professor (at the University of Pittsburgh), he encouraged the classics.

As for football: Bucs or Steelers?

The Steelers are going to win this one, of course! If I had a Terrible Towel, I'd be waving it right now.
