Proposal for 348 townhomes on 39 acres is recommended

The following recommendations were made at the Zoning Hearing Master meetings on Nov. 27-28:

CITRUS PARK: Staffers approved of Ernesto Roman Gonzalez's and other landowners' plans to build 348 townhomes on almost 39 acres near Sheldon Road, north of Meadowview Circle.

The staff recommends requiring the developer to improve Lake Gonzalez Drive and install a traffic signal. Development would proceed as local public schools are able to accommodate growth. (Petition 06-0716)

Nearby, at 8735 Meadowview Circle, the staff is recommending approval of SKJP Properties' request to rezone a 0.53-acre parcel to allow for an overflow parking lot.

The parking lot will accommodate the office uses to the west. Staffers recommend that the entrance to the parking lot be through this adjacent property, which the developer owns, and no access to Meadowview Circle be allowed. (Petition 06-2136)
